Ketamine journals and diamond painting journals seem like a weird mix. What's up with that?
- I know it seems random but hear me out! While I went through my initial set of ketamine infusions, I needed something to occupy my time. I was afraid of watching tv or scrolling on social media and coming across something gruesome that would affect my mindset. I started diamond painting mostly to give me something to do that wouldn't negatively impact my mindset. Throughout the process, I found diamond painting to be really relaxing and therapeutic, and I still diamond paint almost daily over a year later! Diamond painting is just as important to my mental health as my ketamine infusions, so I wanted this to be a space where those worlds could collide.
What makes your ketamine journal so special?
- Great question! This journal was designed by me! While going through ketamine infusions for my depression, I started to feel better, but I was frustrated that I couldn't "see" my progress. I developed this journal (with the stamp of approval from my treatment team) so both the patient and the treatment team can have concrete data to prove that yes, you are in fact healing!
Why is it so expensive?
- To be frank, because things cost money! To prevent waste all journals are printed to order. While this helps the planet, it is a little bit more expensive than bulk ordering a pallet of journals and hoping for the best. While this may seem expensive, most ketamine infusion patients will undergo 6-8 infusions in a short amount of time and this usually costs over $2,000. So while my journal may seem expensive, it is less than 1% of the total revenue most clinics see for each patient. Seems like a worthwhile investment to me!
Will everyone be able to understand your journal?
- Yes! As an autistic person myself, I sometimes have a hard time following vague instructions. The question "how do you feel?" has always frustrated me. How do I feel physically? Mentally? About climate change? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?! This is why the journal asks about how the person has felt at certain times of the day and why a comprehensive feelings wheel is featured in the front of the journal. Answering "how do you feel?" is so much easier when it's multiple choice.
How long does it take to get my order?
- That is a big question my dear friend! Typically, your journal will take 3-5 days to process. The time it takes to get to you will depend on many factors including shipping location and selected carrier.
